Wilson Utility Construction Company has an immediate opening for a team oriented General Foreman/Superintendent based in Rancho Cordova, CA with a solid background and work history in Substation Construction up to 500kV. Wilson has developed a steady backlog of work, and the candidate will be expected to relocate to projects as necessary.
This position will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of crew(s) on Greenfield and Brownfield Substation Construction Projects and will work closely with project management staff based in the office. Responsibilities also include estimating and handling paperwork associated with the crew and project.
Requirements & Responsibilities include:
• Ten plus years’ experience of substation construction up to 500kV.
• Five plus years’ experience as a General Foreman/Superintendent is preferred.
• Attention & commitment to safety and the ability to provide coaching for safe working conditions.
• Experience with managing the onsite construction of EPC Substation Projects.
• Experience managing the onsite construction of Greenfield and Brownfield Substation Projects.
• Familiarity with other facets of High Voltage Electrical Construction such as distribution/transmission lines, testing and commissioning.
• Experience with Utility Substation Construction and Renewable interconnect projects.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Understanding of substation construction scheduling and resource allocation.
• Responsible for planning and achieving project objectives.
• Possesses knowledge of effectively managing material procurement deliveries, tracking, and identifying shortfalls and/or surpluses.
• Work closely with the Project Team to confirm deliverables and services are being provided to the client’s satisfaction.
• Experience tracking and reporting project progress and relaying the information concisely to the Project Manager.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and personality types, including the assigned project manager and project support staff.
• Ability to manage crews safely, productively and efficiently.
• Ability to read and understand project specifications, contract documents, and design drawings.
• Maintain a proactive approach to managing the work to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Maintain a positive outlook as it relates to environmental compliance.
• Current 1st Aid/CPR Certification.
• Must have current CDL and maintain valid driver license.
• Willingness to work outside, travel, and work OT when required; and
• Must be able to pass post-offer, and random drug screening tests.
