General Overview:  

Cycle Counter is responsible for monitoring warehouse, production, and plant floor inventories and performing cycle counting duties to ensure that all materials are properly verified and are reflective of reported inventory.  The Cycle Counter will maintain inventory accuracy through proper counting, processing of material reports and work orders. In a timely manner, this position will support production by physically counting raw materials, finished goods and componentry in order to reconcile inventory discrepancies and work order variances. This position will include assisting with various other inventory transactions to be determined.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform (locate and identify) physical inventory count and verify results against system data.
• Work with plant operators to validate counts and work order controls.
• Research and investigate discrepancies between physical and system count.
• Reconcile and investigate origin of found discrepancies.
• Communicate and summarize cycle count findings to responsible parties.
• Adhere to all cycle counting procedures and guidelines.
• Conduct work in a safe manner.
• Perform duties as instructed by management or other duties as assigned.

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Education Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least one-year previous warehouse experience
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.
• Intermediate computer skills and/or computer applications experience using MS Office
• Self-starter, team player and dependable
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
•  Ability to work independently, exercising discretion in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
• Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours as needed.

Working Conditions:  A mixture of non-climate-controlled production area and climate-controlled office area.

Safety Hazards:  Minimal hazards in office area. Depending upon production department, may be exposed to dust, wet floor, dirt, and noise. Safety glasses, hearing protection, safety toe boots and required while performing certain tasks.

 LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as specifications and procedures.  Must have good verbal communication skills.

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to apply concepts of basic math to calculate figures and amounts.

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to apply common sense understanding and carryout instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to recognize a situation and escalate clearly.  Ability to deal with problems and contribute to problem solving.
