Position Description:  

 

The Area Practice Manager (APM) leads teams who are directly responsible for the orthotic & prosthetic care of pediatric patients. To do this, they will demonstrate strong organizational leadership through coaching & developing team members, thinking creatively and with vision to solve problems, managing finances & budgets, planning strategically for the future, and communicating change.  They are responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, supervising and evaluating the overall operations of assigned clinics within their geographic region. This could require up to 40% travel. APMs have a strong desire and ability to foster teamwork and collaboration so that we can advance our cause of helping more kids.

 

Core Responsibilities:  

 

  • Develops highly functioning teams who work together, follow standards, and are committed to continuous improvement.
  • Ensures individuals are fully competent and confident in their role and with their responsibilities.
  • Collaborates with other leaders and department heads to provide resources and support to teams, and to promptly resolve problems as they are identified.  
  • Assists Human Resources with the full employee life cycle through hiring decisions, onboarding, training, and performance management. 
  • Provides ongoing direction and feedback to develop and reward team members through regular 1:1s as well as the formal performance review process. 
  • Manages clinic payroll, time off requests and employee scheduling. 
  • Establishes and drives team goals where the knowledge, skills, relationships, and utilization of our service programs are leveraged to increase the quality, timeliness, and efficacy of care provided to a growing number of kids. 
  • Monitors all work in progress and uses available EMR and ERP reporting tools to ensure work is progressing through the standard workflow appropriately and timely, and takes appropriate action to meet financial targets.

 

Education/Experience:  

  • Degree in Healthcare Administration and/or at least 5 years related experience in Healthcare Practice Management. 
  • Experience in orthotics & prosthetics industry preferred.
